At Gunmarket Inc., we provide professional import services into the U.S. We work directly with you, your seller, your local FFL, BATFE, US Customs and shippers to ensure the seamless transfer of your firearm(s). We provide competitive pricing to facilitate efficient, compliant import services. This is outside of any broker fees, freight, customs and duty clearance, product liability insurance fee, federal excise tax or shipping costs within the U.S.

Reliable Import Partner

Either a field strip & clean including the bore, or a detailed cleaning of all individual parts including ultrasonic cleaning. May be covered by FSP*, if applicable.

Compliant Processes

Any firearms purchase can only be sent to a verified FFL dealer and must comply with state, federal and local laws when using this site.

Name of Importer

  • Must be conspicuously engraved, cast or stamped (impressed) on the firearm frame, receiver, barrel or slide
  • For firearms imported after January 30, 2002, the engraving, casting or stamping (impressing) of the importer’s name must be to a minimum depth of .003 inch

City & State of the Importer

  • Must be conspicuously engraved, cast or stamped (impressed) on the firearm frame, receiver, barrel or slide
  • For firearms imported after January 30, 2002, the engraving, casting or stamping (impressing) of the importer’s city and state must be to a minimum depth of .003 inch

The U.S. Gun Market Imports

Using data from the U.S. Census Bureau, U.S. import figures from 2022 is readily available. In 2021, U.S. imports of handguns, rifles and shotguns totaled 9,140,862. Coinciding with a return to “normal” market conditions in 2022, total import figures fell 24.6% to 6,892,885. The chart below reflects U.S. imports for 2022 from the top five countries.

NOTE: The importer must ensure that these marks of identification appear on each firearm. If the manufacturer did not mark them, the importer must place the required markings on the firearm within 15 days after their release from Customs and Border Protection custody.

*Excise tax information: All foreign-made firearms are subject to Federal Excise Tax (FET) upon importation. Since Griffin & Howe acts solely as the importer of record, we are not responsible for paying FET on your imported firearm. You must file and pay the tax with the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
